Mine Tech Engineering (MTE) is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of any personally orcommercially sensitive information that it becomes privy to, by:
- Maintaining procedures that protect privacy with regard to the collection, use, retention anddisclosure of personal information; and,
- We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988(Cth) (the Privacy Act).

This policy applies to all employees and any other personnel that handle confidentially sensitiveinformation. It applies to the personal or commercially sensitive information of employees, clientsand interested parties.
- To ensure information is received, recorded, accessed, and stored appropriately to maintainconfidentiality.

o All other relevant legislation
o DISP requirements
o Obligations imposed by clients, as well as applicable accreditation and licensing standards
o MTE IMS Policies and Procedures relating to the collection, handling, retention, and retrieval of confidential information.
- To ensure that all individuals are aware of their rights in regard to privacy and confidentiality and are aware of the means to access or amend private information held about them.
- To ensure that any personal and or confidential information obtained is used only for the purposes for which it is given to us, or for the purposes related to MTE activities.
Personal Information is information that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Informationwe collect includes names, addresses, email addresses, banking details and phone numbers. Whenwe collect Personal Information, we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you whywe are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.
Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about suchthings as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a politicalassociation, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professionalbody, criminal record, or health information.
Sensitive information will be used by us only:
- For the primary purpose for which it was obtained
- For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose
- With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.
Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:
- Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and
- Where required or authorised by law.
Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss andfrom unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. When your Personal Information is no longerneeded for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy orpermanently de-identify your Personal Information.
You may access the Personal Information we hold about you and to update and/or correct it, subjectto certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing.
It is an important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps tomake sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete, and up to date. If you find that theinformation we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so wecan update our records.
